KRISTEN

Director

I aim to always advocate for children and to give them a voice. I enjoy celebrating the wonder of learning and joy in ordinary moments with children and families.

I also value building meaningful relationships with all members of the community that are authentic, built on trust and supportive.

In my spare time I like to go on adventures with my husband, see live music and spend time with the cutest Beaglier dog in town.

One day I would like to write and illustrate a children’s storybook.

JESS

Educational Leader

I work in childcare because I love children. I love watching children; make discoveries, learn new things, and grow into their own little person.

I love working at Parkside because it is like a family, everyone looks out for each other. Parkside provides a variety of unique learning opportunities for the children.

In my personal time I love spending time with my family. Together, we love camping, going on spontaneous drives and spending time at the beach.

JENNIFER

Early Childhood Educator (Kindergarten)

As a teacher my greatest reward is seeing the children grow in confidence as they acquire new skills and develop a love of learning. I love hearing children say “WHY?”

In my free time I enjoy running, hiking, playing all kinds of sport and going for walks with my family and dog, Boomer.

One day I would like to retire in a house in France, growing my own veggies and keep chickens and goats.

Bridget Headshot

BRIDGET

Early Childhood Teacher (Kindergarten)

After all the planning and programming we do everyday I simply love hearing children laugh! That is my reward for what I do and gives me joy. Happy children learn best!

Outside of my work I enjoy being active and being outdoors doing things like paddle boarding, bush walking and gardening.

It is my life dream to one day travel the world and see all the amazing sights around the globe.

Melissa

MELISSA

Lead Educator (Pre-Kindy)

I find it most rewarding being an active part of helping children learn and grow.

Outside of working at Parkside I love spending time with my son. We explore the Gympie surrounding regions and enjoy regular visits to speedway together.

In the future I would love to take my son to Disneyland.

Rebecca

REBECCA

Lead Educator (Junior Kindy & Assistant Director)

I enjoy most about my job that I can be involved in a child’s learning journey.

In my spare time I love going camping and spending quality time with my family.

Looking ahead I would like to be more involved in helping and educating people who are less fortunate.

JANE

Hearing comments from parents that their children are learning and bringing that learning home is my greatest joy. It is important to me to develop trusting relationships with the families attending and to create connections with the children.

In my free time I enjoy anything that involves my family.

Stacey

STACEY

Lead Educator (Nursery)

It is my best reward watching all my children develop into beautiful souls and be a part as they reach their milestones in their own times. I ensure to build a special friendship with every child.

Away from work I like to go camping and spend time with my beautiful family.

I aim to live a happy life with my husband and 2 beautiful children and one day to run my own childcare centre.

Jodie Headshot

Seeing that I have made a positive difference in children’s lives is my greatest joy in my job. I love watching children achieve goals that they may have set themselves or we set for them.

In my spare time I enjoy going camping and spending time with my family, especially with my brand new grandson!

My goal in life is to live happily and content with what we are given.

MEET THE OWNERS OF PARKSIDE

A big difference with Parkside Early Learning Centre is that the owners Andrew and Carolin Riley are actively involved in the running of the centre.

Andrew says “The best early learning Centres are the ones where the owners are heavily involved and present. We make ourselves available when we are onsite so our families and community can talk with us at any time. It also helps that both Carolin and I are early childhood educators too. We are so passionate about the importance of good quality early childhood education”

One thing you will find different about Parkside Early Learning Centre are that both of the owners, Carolin and Andrew Riley, are in fact qualified Early Childhood Educators. They are onsite every week and love interacting with the families and children.

ANDREW RILEY

I dreamt of working in childcare from the age of 15 years. At this age I did a practical placement in the local kindergarten and I remember vividly trying to use the limited sign language I had learnt talking to a 4 year old girl who was mute and had learning difficulties. I found this experience so rewarding that I wanted to work in an industry where you could make a difference in a person’s life. After working a long time in the corporate world I decided to finally do something about getting into the child care industry.

While travelling around Australia in a Caravan with our children Isabella and Felix we found a childcare centre for sale that was surrounded by parkland and my wife and I fell in love with it. We saw the potential in this centre that needed a bit of love and investment. It took 6 months for the sale to complete but in December 2015 we were the proud owners of the newly named Parkside Early Learning centre! Our next adventure was to begin…

The two things I have learned over the last few years are: You are never to old to start living your dream and never travel around Australia in a European caravan!

CAROLIN RILEY

I have had childcare on my mind ever since I was born! My mother was an educator and even after my pre-school years I always went to visit her after school at her centre. I told everyone I wanted to be an educator like mum even though she encouraged me to chose my own career path! But it was meant to be…

After school I moved to England and worked as a nanny to 4 boisterous boys! Still, this confirmed my passion for the early years and I began my study to become a qualified educator. When I was a stay-at-home mum in New Zealand I volunteered at mainly music, a playgroup focused on music & movement. Through this I lead different groups of volunteers for 5 years, presented the music sessions and met many wonderful families.

When I returned back to the workforce my interest for having my own centre grew. I had so many ideas I wanted to realise and they are now coming to fruition at Parkside like our weekly music & movement sessions, Bushkindy and teaching second languages to young children. I still love working actively with the children and other educators. Early childhood education is constantly changing and you never stop learning and investigating together with the children.
